FDA Approves Fujifilm’s Aspire HD Mammography System

The FDA has approved the Aspire HD full-field digital mammography system from Fujifilm Medical Systems USA, according to a Fujifilm news release.

The DR-based device uses 50-micron resolution and the company’s new Direct Optical Switching technology, allowing for direct image transfer, more efficient image-capture and less noise, the company said.

 

The FDA eased the approval process for full-field digital mammography systems in Nov. 2010.
