Jeff Blankinship is the CEO and president of Surgical Notes, which provides transcription services to more than 450 surgery centers and 6,500 physicians in 42 states. Under his leadership, Surgical Notes has partnered with several large ASC development and management companies and leading surgeons across the country. Mr. Blankinship started Surgical Notes in 1997 with his wife Courtney.
Prior to founding Surgical Notes, Mr. Blankinship built a network of pain management surgery centers that eventually formed Pain Management Surgical Centers. He has also worked in home healthcare, physician practice management and pain management. In addition to his leadership at Surgical Notes, Mr. Blankinship also serves as a director of the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society.
In a recent Becker’s ASC Review interview, Mr. Blankinship noted increased utilization of information technology will help surgery centers improve work flow processes. He suggests ASCs utilize as much technology as possible, which may require the management team and staff to be retrained in the available tools.
