Dr. Matthew Saltzman to Discuss Reducing the Risk of SSIs at Annual June Surgery Center Conference in Chicago

Chicago — Matthew D. Saltzman, MD, an assistant professor at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery who specializes in shoulder and elbow surgery, will present on “Reducing the Risk of Surgical Site Infections: What is the Evidence?” at the upcoming 9th Annual Orthopedic, Spine and Pain Management-Driven Ambulatory Surgery Center Conference: Improving Profitability and Business and Legal Issues held June 9-11, 2011, in Chicago.

This exclusive conference will be held at the Westin Hotel on North Michigan Avenue and is presented by ASC Communications, publisher of Becker’s ASC Review and Becker’s Orthopedic & Spine Review, and the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, the national association for surgery centers. In addition to his work at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Dr. Saltzman is an orthopedic surgeon at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. His clinical interests include biomechanical evaluation of rotator cuff repair techniques, reverse shoulder arthroplasty and sports related injuries. He received his MD from Loyola University-Stritch School of Medicine and completed a fellowship at the University of Washington Medical Center. His presentation on reducing the risk of SSIs is scheduled for 4:05-4:35 p.m. on Thursday, June 9.
