The Children’s Specialty Care Center would initially include outpatient services, such as ophthalmology, MRI and radiology. Plans for expansion, including an ASC, are also underway, according to the report.

Officials from the hospital addressed community concerns over traffic and noise, saying that since the facility is outpatient and patients will arrive based on appointments, traffic increase would be minimal and ambulances would not be coming through at all hours of the evening, according to the report.

If Children’s receives approval, construction could begin as early as April 2010, with a targeted completion date of July 2010.
