Rep. Foster was “exploring one possible model for a solution to reducing [healthcare] costs,” according to the report.
During his visit, Rep. Foster met with physicians and staff at the ASC and discussed how the facility is able to offer high-quality care at a lower cost than hospitals.
Anthony Giamberdino, MD, medical director of Valley ASC, said that ASCs are able to provide such care by “spending less money on the facility and expensive equipment and more dollars on staff,” according to the report.
