Federal prosecutors allege Dr. Madison submitted more than $3 million in false medical claims to private insurers and the federal government. Dr. Madison was indicted on 11 counts, including healthcare fraud.
Prosecutors alleged that Dr. Madison directed the surgery center’s staff to submit bills for unperformed procedures to private insurers. Each count the physician faces carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
