Cigna Considers More Job Cuts

Cigna Corp. is considering additional job cuts as part of cost reductions following the company’s announcement of less than expected first-quarter earnings, according to a report in the Hartford Courant.

The insurer, which has already announced cuts of up to 1,100 employees, will announce details about the new cuts after first-quarter earnings are officially released.

CIGNA experienced a 2.7 percent decrease in membership for the first-quarter and expects its enrollment to drop by 3-4 percent this year.
