Dr. Wilson currently serves as the national fellow and advisor for the Center for Global Health and Medical Diplomacy at the University of North Florida and is also a board member of COLA, a physician-run organization that accredits more than 8,000 physician office laboratories nationwide, according to the report.
Dr. Wilson has held numerous positions within the AMA, including chair of the AMA board of trustees from 2006-2007, chair of the AMA’s membership committee for three years and member of the AMA house of delegates for 10 years.
Dr. Wilson will serve a one-year term as president-elect and will become president of the AMA in June 2010.
