CDC to Release Policy Statement on Antibiotic Resistance

The CDC will release a policy statement on antibiotic resistance on Nov. 13, outlining strategies to conserve and replenish antibiotic resources.

The federal agency’s new policy statement is being released in conjunction with Get Smart About Antibiotics Weeks 2012, which is taking place Nov. 12 to 18. In addition to its policy statement, the CDC will release Pew Health Group poll results on Americans’ knowledge and behaviors of antibiotics use and resistances and a new conceptual model to improve antibiotic use in hospitals.
