Report: Medical Supply Industry Faces ‘Stagnant’ U.S. Market

Facing a “stagnant” U.S. market, the medical supplies industry is focusing more on international operations, according to a Paragon Report news release.

Medical supply companies’ profit margins have been dampened by the bad economy, healthcare reform and a confusing medical device approval process.

 

The Institute of Medicine recently called for a new FDA system to approve medical devices, noting that the current system does not guarantee products are safe.
