California to Form New Healthcare Infections Advisory Panel

The California Department of Public Health has opened an application process to form a new panel of members who would focus on healthcare-associated infections, according to the Center for Health Reporting.

The state’s former Healthcare Associated Infection Advisory Committee abruptly dissolved following periods of resignations and tight budgets over the last several months. The health department’s director opened an application process to revive the group with new members. Interested stakeholders, including infection prevention specialists and consumer advocates, can apply through Oct. 19.
