California Falls Six Months Behind on Infection Reports

The California state department has failed to publicly report hospital infection-related data in compliance with a 2006 law in addition to a six-month delay in reporting about health worker flu vaccines, according to a California Watch report.

The 2006 law outlines the establishment of a hospital infectious disease control program and the requirements to be mandated by the program. The bill can be read in detail here.

State department spokespeople said the department is working to clarify reporting requirements and plans to issue a report by the end of the month.
