C. diff Developed in Hospital Raises Costs

The cost of treating patients for hospital-onset clostridium difficile infection is higher than for patients without the infection, independent of principal disease and other characteristics, according to a study in Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology.

Researchers examined hospital-onset CDI in adult inpatients at six Pennsylvania hospitals from 2007 to 2008.
