Blue Jays Pitcher Out 6 Weeks Following Infection at Injection Site

Blue Jays pitcher Jesse Litsch will be out for at least six weeks after undergoing emergency surgery to fight an infection at the site of a platelet-rich plasma injection, according to a Tampa Bay Times report.

In late February, Mr. Litsch was diagnosed with shoulder inflammation and received a PRP injection to aid the healing process. However, an infection developed at the injection site, forcing Mr. Litsch to undergo an emergency arthroscopic surgery, according to the report.
