Here are the survey’s average incomes offered to selected specialties; the figures represent the base salary or income guarantee only, and not production bonus or benefits:

1. orthopedic surgery — $439,000

2. urology — $387,000

3. gastroenterology — $379,000

4. otolaryngology — $362,000

5. anesthesiology — $336,000

6. general surgery — $321,000

7. CRNA — $185,000

Interestingly, the average offered salary for CRNAs was higher than that for family practitioners, internal medicine physicians and hospitalists.
