ASC Medical Director New President of Ohio State Medical Association

Richard Ellison, MD, medical director for the Park West Surgical Center in Akron, is the new president of the Ohio State Medical Association, according to Med City News.

Dr. Ellison is an ophthalmologist who earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University and completed his residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland.

The medical association’s new president-elect is Charles Hickey, MD, also an ophthalmologist, from Columbus.

Unlike the AMA, the Ohio association did not support the new health reform law, citing the lack of a physician fee-fix and tort reform.
