Lori Ramirez is the founder, president and CEO of Elite Surgical Affiliates, which was founded in 2008 and specializes in the development and management of surgical facilities with a focus on orthopedics, spine and pain. Despite launching her company in one of the worst recessions in recent history, Ms. Ramirez has clearly demonstrated her business acumen. To date, Elite Surgical Affiliates has developed several facilities in Houston, with other projects currently in the development phase. She attributes Elite Surgical Affiliates’ success to the company’s focus on physicians and patients.
“For our physicians, we provide a niche opportunity, we offer majority ownership, and we provide higher returns than others in the industry,” she said. “The bottom line is our physicians are aligned with us, and they have a vested interest in providing the best quality and consistency of care thereby ultimately benefiting our patients.”
Ms. Ramirez previously served as a senior vice president with United Surgical Partners International where she was directly responsible for developing the second-largest network of surgical facilities for the company. In this role, Ms. Ramirez oversaw 20-plus surgical facilities. She was also responsible for all strategic planning as well as operations, physician partnerships and financing.
