Jessica Nantz, president and founder of Outpatient Healthcare Strategies, has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with the last 15 years strictly in the outpatient sector. Ms. Nantz and the Outpatient Healthcare Strategies team offer expert consulting services, including guidance on joint ventures, strategic planning, revenue cycle assessment and operational oversight, to help ambulatory surgery centers achieve success.
Prior to founding Outpatient Healthcare Strategies, Ms. Nantz served in a senior executive role at HealthSouth Corporation, overseeing more than 80 healthcare facilities. She later established mdStrategies, an ASC coding company that was eventually sold, and ASC Strategies, which works with hospitals, physicians and other professionals to develop and operate surgery centers.
Drawing on her expertise, Ms. Nantz recently discussed five steps that help control expenses at an ASC, including engaging all levels of staff. “An administrator cannot monitor expenses alone,” she said. “The more they are involved, the more they learn, the more they will assist you in saving money.”
