For nearly seven years, Jeff Leland has been at the helm of Blue Chip Surgical Partners, an ASC management and development company based in Cincinnati that focuses on spine, multi-specialty and physician/hospital joint-venture ASCs. The company recently announced the formation of Lake Ridge Ambulatory Surgery Center, a new joint venture with a group of orthopedic, spine, and pain surgeons and Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center. The center is expected to open in late 2012.

“Blue Chip is proud of our organizational affiliation with both Sentara and such market-leading and forward-looking surgeons,” said Jeff Leland, CEO, Blue Chip Surgical Center Partners. “Patients are actively seeking out facilities that focus on their particular needs and offer a great experience. Lake Ridge Surgery Center will be the only musculoskeletal facility equipped to deliver this type of specialized care in Prince William County.”

Prior to joining Blue Chip Surgical Partners, Mr. Leland served as a vice president at Ambulatory Surgery Centers of America, executive director of Lutheran General Medical Group in Park Ridge, Ill., and as a senior-level executive with Advocate Health Care in Chicago. He also held leadership roles at HealthSpring Medical Group, a primary care medical group that was later acquired by Met Life & Travelers, and Western Ohio Health Care, an HMO with more than 200,000 members that was acquired by United HealthCare.
