I. Naya Kehayes, MPH, is the founder, managing member and chief executive officer of Eveia Health Consulting & Management, formerly known as Millennium Health Consulting. The group specializes in ASC and surgical contract negotiations and serves as a managed care contracting manager to its clients. The Millennium Health Consulting brand has evolved and grown dramatically since its inception in 1998 and was rebranded as Eveia Health Consulting & Management in 2006. In her role, Ms. Kehayes helps clients in the areas of managed care, ASC operations and financial management.

“If [a] payor intends to include payment for implants in the APC rate as a global allowed amount, then ensure you have completed a reimbursement analysis to determine if the APC rate is high enough to cover your cost of surgery plus the implant,” Ms. Kehayes said in a Becker’s ASC Review interview. “In addition, ensure there is no value loss when compared to the total reimbursement allowed under the Medicare-grouper based methodology with the additional payment on the implant.”

Before founding Eveia, Ms. Kehayes served as regional director of operations and managed care of National Surgery Centers. She also coordinated orthopedic development in the Northwest region of the country and was a surgical hospital administrator for Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corporation. Other administrative roles include stints at hospitals and healthcare affiliates of Harvard University, Yale University and the University of Rochester.

Beyond her evident business prowess, Ms. Kehayes has also established herself as a true advocate of ASCs. She served as the president of the Washington Ambulatory Surgery Center Association and serves as an active board member of the association to this day. Ms. Kehayes earned her Masters of Public Health with thesis distinction from Yale University School of Medicine.
