Scott Gibbs is the founder of the Brain and Neurocience Clinic of Missouri.Dr. Gibbs tells Becker’s ASC Review that his success with workers’ compensation care stems from his practice’s care philosophy. This means eliminating bad physician attitudes toward workers’ compensation and adversarial relationships with patients. In addition to providing a wide variety of procedures, ASCs that want to remain profitable while accepting workers’ compensation must zero in on patient experiences, he says.

Dr. Gibbs earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biological science from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He received his MD from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in 1991 and completed his internship in general surgery and a residency in neurosurgery at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, Mo. Dr. Gibbs is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and has been named a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Gibbs is also the founder of the International Brain Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting brain awareness, education programs, and furthering research to cure neurological diseases and disorders.
