Speaking to Becker’s ASC Review, Dr. Dar targeted physician recruitment as a chief concern for surgery centers in 2012. Physicians are increasingly seeking hospital employment as a shelter from reimbursement reductions and regulatory burdens, he said, and even physicians that would choose ASC investment do not have the available capital to invest. “Physician recruitment has been challenging and will, in my opinion, continue to be competitive,” said Dr. Dar. “New graduating physicians do not have the resources available to invest in an ASC and tend to see employee positions with salary guarantees.”
Dr. Dar earned his MD from the University of Kashmir India; completed his internship at East Tennessee State University; and completed residency training in anesthesiology at Texas Tech University under the guidance of pain physician Gabor Racz, MD.
Certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine and the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Dar has been in private practice in San Antonio since 1994. He specializes in treating chronic and cancer pain.
