The “WAVE” campaign provides several free tools including a wallet card, brochure and posters organizations can use to support their infection prevention efforts.
In its release, APIC encouraged members and organizations nationwide to adopt materials to help educate and empower patients in the fight against HAIs.

“Educating patients is a key step in a comprehensive infection prevention strategy,” said Michelle Farber, RN, CIC, APIC 2012 president, in the release. “We invite patients to take an active role and partner with their healthcare team in preventing infections.”
