AmSurg Q2 Earnings Up 12%

AmSurg has announced its earnings for the second quarter of 2009, according to an AmSurg news release.

The company’s revenue has increased 12 percent to $168.8 million from $150.7 million in second-quarter 2008. Net earnings from continuing operations increased 11 percent to $13.7 million from $12.4 million.

AmSurg attributed the improved earnings to a 12 percent increase in procedure volume for the quarter, compared to second-quarter 2008, and the acquisition of 21 centers since second-quarter 2008.
