AmSurg Q1 Revenue up 12%

AmSurg has announced its earnings for the first quarter of 2009, according to an AmSurg news release.

The company’s revenue has increased 12 percent to $163.5 million from $145.7 million in first-quarter 2008. Net earnings from continuing operations increased 8 percent to $12.6 million from $11.6 million in first-quarter 2008.

The company attributes the increases to the addition of 21 new surgery centers to the AmSurg portfolio.

Amsurg expects to add 13-16 new centers in 2009 and anticipates revenues in a range of $650-$680 million for 2009.
