The American Medical Association announced that it will eliminate 100 positions due to the economy, according to an AMA news release.
Effective May 4, the AMA will eliminate 100 open and existing positions in its Chicago and Washington, D.C., offices.
The AMA said in the release that the staff reduction was part of its decision to reduce its 2009 operating budget due to declining revenues in the current economy.
