Florida’s Center for Sight to Donate 100 Free Cataract Surgeries

Center for Sight in Sarasota, Fla., will donate 100 free cataract surgeries for patients without insurance or means to pay on March 23 and March 30, according to a Gulf Coast Business Review report.

The surgeries will be performed by David Shoemaker, MD, William Lahners, MD, Joshua Kim, MD, and William Soscia, MD. At the cost of approximately $4,000 per surgery, Center for Sight is donating over $400,000 in care this year.

Center for Sight was one of the founding members of Mission Cataract USA, and has committed to providing free cataract surgery to indigent patients through the program for more than 16 years.
