Two days a week, Nancy-Ann DeParle, director of the White House Office of Health Reform, meets on process with top officials in other parts of the administration, such as the director of the Office of Health Reform at HHS, the HHS acting general counsel, and Treasury and Labor officials.

Regulars also include White House health policy expert Ezekiel Emanuel, MD, and Democratic communications specialist Stephanie Cutter, who is launching a major public outreach campaign on benefits to the public.

Ms. DeParle has briefed Senate Democrats on provisions that kick in this year, providing those up for reelection in November with achievements to cite in their campaigns.
