AAOS Approves New Clinical Practice Guidelines on Diagnosing Periprosthetic Infections

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons has approved a new clinical practice guideline for the diagnosis of periprosthetic joint infections, according to AAOS Now.

The workgroup based its work on a systematic review of the current scientific and clinical information on accepted approaches to treatment and diagnosis. The group assembled the guidelines comprised of 15 recommendations and it was approved at the AAOS’s June meeting.
