MediGain recognizes Advanced Pain Surgical Center as healthcare leader.
The MediGain ASC Billing Division has granted the Advanced Pain Surgical Center, based in California, the Leaders in Healthcare Award. The ASC is a standalone center co-founded by Vimal S. Lala, MD, and Paul B. Johnson, MD.

CMS to reject Medicare Part B claims without G-codes beginning July 1.
Beginning July 1, CMS will require healthcare providers to use G-codes for Medicare Part B claims. G-codes have already been required, but penalties will begin as of July 1.

Frontier Healthcare opens 4th ASC since February.
Frontier Healthcare has announced the opening of its Flushing (N.Y.) Endoscopy Center, which is the fourth ambulatory surgery center the management and development company has opened since February.  

ASCA partners with Voyance to develop ASC benchmarking program.
ASC has partnered with patient satisfaction and perception management tools provider Voyance to develop the new ASCA Benchmarking Program for the ambulatory surgery center industry.

CMS simplifies Medicaid enrollment process.
CMS officials have simplified the Medicaid enrollment system to encourage early and efficient participation. CMS has moved towards a simpler system in response to the potential slowdown of state enrollment in Medicaid.

Dr. Michael Sullivan of Sullivan Centre for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery to co-direct fellowship program.
Michael Sullivan, MD, will co-direct a facial plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship program, which is a joint effort with The Ohio State University. Dr. Sullivan will welcome fellows at the Sullivan Centre for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, an AAAHC-accredited ASC.

State insurance exchanges elicit mixed insurer response.
State health insurance exchanges, designed to provide Americans with insurance coverage and power of choice, are experiencing varying levels of payer participation. In Maryland, 13 health insurance providers intend to participate in the online marketplace beginning in October. On the other hand, only Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has plans to participate in the New Hampshire exchange.
