House votes to repeal PPACA 37th time.
The House of Representatives has voted to the repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act for the 37th time. Republicans unanimously voted for the repeal, while only two Democrats voted to repeal. The act remains intact due to the Democrats’ control of the Senate.
AMA membership increases 3 percent.
The American Medical Association has announced that its membership is at 225,000, a growth of over 3 percent in 2012. Though the AMA experienced membership growth, its operating income was down from $24.7 million in 2011 to $16.6 million in 2012.
