Surgical Notes launched the Surgery Center Network, a service to connect a network of ambulatory surgery centers to insurance plans, workers’ compensation payors and the general public. Through this network, users can view surgery cost comparisons and outcomes data, receive surgery education and evaluate ASCs.

Those in favor of the bill argue that multispecialty surgery centers will allow for convenient and less costly options for patients.
New York hospitals challenge surgery center opening.
New York hospitals are challenging the approval of a new ambulatory surgery center, Omnicare Multi-Specialty Center, citing the potential to slash hospital revenue. The Omnicare Multi-Specialty Center would include gastroenterology, gynecology, orthopedics, otolaryngology and urology, and projects performing 4,400 surgeries per year. The new ASC could cost King County Hospital $742,000 in revenue.
Montana defeats ASC CON bill.
The Montana House Human Services Committee voted to kill House Bill 306, which would have required a stricter review process for organizations to build ambulatory surgery centers in the state.
