Although specific data were not available, hospital spokesperson Colleen Flynn said not all of the patients acquired C. diff at the hospital.
Ms. Flynn said the increase in cases of C diff. may be due to an increased number of patients in the medical-surgical units of the hospital: Whereas the hospital generally has approximately 40 patients in those units, there are currently 65.
