Ophthalmologist Dr. Howard Siegel Dead at 79

Ophthalmologist Howard Siegel, MD, has died, according to a Cleveland Jewish News obituary.

Dr. Siegel died June 18. He was 79.

 

Dr. Siegel practiced in downtown Cleveland for more than 52 years. He served as chief of ophthalmology at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center in Cleveland. While there he co-founded and directed the Lions Eye Clinic of Northern Ohio and co-directed the eye residency program. He was appointed associate professor of ophthalmology at the Bunts Foundation of the Cleveland Clinic and ophthalmology consultant to the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission.

 

Dr. Siegel earned his MD from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and did his ophthalmology residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University in St. Louis.
