Paul Faraclas (CTQ Solutions). Mr. Faraclas is the president and CEO of CTQ Solutions, a patient satisfaction monitoring and benchmarking company for healthcare providers. Mr. Faraclas previously served as vice president of ISH, Inc. in Fairfield, N.J., where he helped grow the practice into a large acute-care consulting firm. He was successful in leading Human Capital Management initiatives and initiated savings programs that exceeded $30 million. He has also served as national sales director for professional serves for USInternetworking, serving industries in technology planning and implementation. He was able to increase revenue by over 250 percent over three years. During his career, Mr. Faraclas has spent time working with acute-care and research facilities, managed care and Fortune 500 companies.
Edward P. Hetrick (Facilities Development and Management). Mr. Hetrick is the president of Facility Development and Management, a company that provides consultative, development and management of free-standing ambulatory service centers throughout the United States. During his more than 20 years in the healthcare industry, Mr. Hetrick has served as the vice president for Healthcare Facilities Management and the director of operations management at a teaching institution in New York City. He has been involved in reviewing and developing recommendations for departmental procedures and was tasked with improving efficiency and maximizing revenues for clinical departments. Mr. Hetrick has served as an operating room administrator for several surgical departments and overseen construction on new operating room suites.
Thomas J. Pliura, MD, JD (zChart). Dr. Pliura is the president and CEO of zChart, an electronic medical records company whose products are developed by healthcare professionals and used in surgery centers across the country. The zChart is a wireless, paperless EMR that complies with the privacy and security standards required by HIPAA. During his career, Dr. Pliura has practiced with Decatur Healthcare with a focus on emergency medicine. The team at zChart focuses on making sure the technology is easy for healthcare professionals to use. The zChart can be customized for each physician, capture and store information from outside sources and can be used for wireless bedside charting. Important business aspects of the technology include quicker and complete billing, as well as an audit trail for management.
Randy Ware (West Coast Medical Resources). Mr. Ware is the president and founder at West Coast Medical Resources, a company that purchases and resells surplus disposable surgical supplies and equipment from hospitals and surgery center. His previous experience includes serving as vice president at JSB Orthotics and senior district manager/sales manager at ADP. His company has a focus on disposable surgical supplies for ENT, GYN, orthopedics, hernia repair, trauma, gastric banding and endomechanical products. He regularly works with leading products, including Stryker, Smith & Nephew, Arthrocare, Covidien, Ethicon and Davol/Bard. Next year, the company is planning on investigating additional products in areas such as sports trauma.
