4 recent ASC leadership moves

Here are 4 ambulatory surgery center industry leaders who have recently taken on new leadership roles.

R. Blake Curd, MD, was elected as the new CEO for Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital. Dr. Curd is currently president of Physician Hospitals of America and has served as a guest physician for several speaking engagements. 

Michael Yeary and Kimberly Persley, MD, were appointed to the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society’s board of directors. Both Mr. Yeary and Dr. Persley were appointed to terms lasting three years. 

Carolyn Logan has decided to retire as president, CEO and director of Salix Pharmaceuticals effective Jan. 30. Tom D’Alonzo, chairman of Salix’s board of directors, will be appointed acting CEO.

Benjamin L. Shneider, MD, was named chief of Texas Children’s Hospital’s gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition service.
