Wound management supplies are expected to remain the top-selling group of medical disposables, with demand forecast to increase 4.6 percent annually. Wound dressings based on alginate, foam, collagen and growth factor substances are predicted to post the strongest growth, while movement toward less invasive surgery is expected to weaken the market for wound closures, according to the report.
Diagnostic and laboratory disposables are projected to be the fastest growing types of medical disposables, growing 7.0 percent annually. Blood glucose test strips and other diabetic-related testing supplies are predicted to see the fastest gains.
