11 Recent Moves by Pain Physicians in 2011

Here are 11 pain management physicians who accepted new positions in 2011.

1.    Cory Pickens, MD, will begin providing anesthesiology and pain management services at Powell (Wyo.) Valley Healthcare at the end of May. Dr. Pickens currently practices in Billings, Mont.

2.    In May, Ripal Parikh, MD, joined Pain Management Group in Findlay, Ohio, according to a release from the practice. He will direct diagnosis and treatment and provide treatment options for patients with chronic and acute pain.

3.    Sanford M. Silverman, MD, who is board-certified in anesthesiology and pain management, joined the medical staff at Boca Raton (Fla.) Regional Hospital in May.

4.    Sudhir Diwan, MD, was appointed to become the executive director at The Spine & Pain Institute of New York in April.

5.    Venu Madhipatla, MD, a physician board-certified in both anesthesiology and pain management, joined the medical staff at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie, Ga., in March.

6.    Sam Elghor, MD, a pain management physician, opened The Center for Pain Management in Baxter, Minn., in March. Dr. Elghor’s new pain management center is an extension of his Sartell-based practice, which opened in 2003.

7.    In February, five anesthesiologists specializing in pain management and interventional spine procedures opened Jersey Shore Pain Management in Egg Harbor Township, N.J. The anesthesiologists have added medication management as part of the new office’s services.

8.    Eldor Brish, MD, a pain management specialist and anesthesiologist, joined the medical staff at East Texas Medical Center Jacksonville (Texas) in February.

9.    Christian Piccolo, MD, a board-certified anesthesiologist who specializes in pain medicine, joined Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt Manor, N.Y., in February.

10.    In February, Frederic Gerges, MD, whose clinical interests include interventional pain management, geriatric pain management, cancer pain management and intradiscal procedures, was appointed to director of St. Elizabeth’s Pain Management Center in Boston.

11.    Peter Kroll, MD, a board-certified anesthesiology/pain management physician with a special interest in pain management, joined the medical staff at NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tenn., in February.
