ASCs are recommended to follow the principles suggested by ASCA to limit the spread of the virus, so it’s beneficial to share the steps you’re taking with patients and their families.
Communicate clearly to patients that screenings are required before visits, and that staff are also self-monitoring for symptoms.2 Ensure that social distancing guidelines are enforced in waiting rooms by posting visible reminders and requiring visitors and patients to wear facial coverings.2 Lastly, communicate verbally or via posted signs that your facility is practicing heightened disinfection throughout the facility.2 If your facility is taking additional measures, consider creating a guide of how you’re addressing COVID-19 concerns to share with patients via email before they enter the facility.
