Medtronic’s Minimally Invasive Therapies group generates $2.24 billion in Q4 revenue — 6 notes

Medtronic posted $4.19 billion in fourth-quarter U.S. revenue and $29.95 billion in fiscal year 2018 revenue.

Here are six notes.

1. Medtronic reported fourth quarter 2018 worldwide revenue of $8.14 billion, a 2.9 percent year-over-year increase. Adjusting for Medtronic’s second-quarter divestments and a $315 million positive impact from foreign currency, worldwide revenue grew 6.5 percent year over year.

2. As reported, fourth-quarter GAAP net income was $1.46 billion. Fourth-quarter non-GAAP net income increased 6 percent to $1.94 billion.

3. Fourth-quarter U.S. revenue decreased 4.9 percent as reported, but increased 5.3 percent year over year when adjusting for the divestiture.

4. Medtronic’s fiscal year 2018 revenue of $29.95 billion increased 4.6 percent, adjusting for the divestiture, acquisitions and foreign currency impact.

5. Cash flow from operations for fiscal year 2018 was $4.7 billion.

6. Medtronic’s Minimally Invasive Therapies Group, which includes the Surgical Innovations and Respiratory, Gastrointestinal & Renal divisions, reported worldwide fourth-quarter revenue of about $2.24 billion.
