The device requires no batteries and is designed to be environmentally friendly.

Made of lightweight non-toxic plastic, the drive unit is flame-retardant and designed to be low-noise and fully rechargeable. Mahe estimates that the use of Blue Lavage would avert the disposal of 1.6 million batteries per year.
