Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford opens surgical center — 3 insights

Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford (Calif.) recently opened The Bonnie Uytengsu and Family Surgery and Intervention Center in Stanford, Healthcare Design reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The center includes six surgical suites and six interventional treatment rooms.

2. The hospital is upgrading its existing seven operating rooms and expects they will be operational by early 2019. Once the upgrades are complete, the hospital will have 13 pediatric ORs.

3. The surgery center is part of the Packard Children’s Treatment Center, which also features an imaging center.
