4. The salt within the suture’s silicone core dissolves inside the body, leaving a porous structure in the silicone core. The pores fill with fluid, causing the braided sheath to expand and the suture to shorten.
5. The Dynacord suture is part of the DePuy Synthes Mitek Sports Medicine portfolio. Johnson & Johnson scheduled the suture’s full U.S. launch for the third quarter of 2018.
