Three takeaways on ASC purchasing:
1. Unlike hospitals, at most ASCs, physicians are the primary decision-makers or directly influence device and equipment purchasing decisions.
2. More than half of ASC physicians surveyed said they would purchase a similar device from a different manufacturer if offered a 15 percent discount.
3. Discounts would also motivate ASC physicians to try innovative purchasing models and nontraditional services, such as 24-hour remote service instead of full-time on-site technicians.
