GHX launched a cloud-based solution for healthcare providers that connect the supply chain with the EHR.

Here are five things to know:

1. GHX's Clinical ConneXion is designed as a single source for item information to support clinical documentation and patient billing, including supply and implant capture at the point of use.

2. The platform can make the connection on EHR applications used by 95 percent of providers in North America, and its first implementation is with the Epic Enterprise EHR system.

3. Cliniccal ConneXion provides item data directly to the EHR by leveraging the provider's item master as well as other data sources to produce more accurate supply documentation and increase efficiency. The platform can also lead to fewer missed changes and lower clinician frustration.

4. Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System in Baton Rouge, La., has implemented the solution and eliminated manual entry of commonly used supplies as well as improved charge capture from 40 percent to 95 percent.

5. Clinical ConneXion's capabilities fully automate file processing end-to-end and enable total case costing.
