Cardinal Health bestows $3M+ in grants to fight opioid epidemic — 3 insights

The Cardinal Health Foundation will award more than $3 million in grants to 70-plus nonprofit organizations in Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee to fight the opioid epidemic.

Here's what you should know:

1. The grants were funded by Cardinal Health's Opioid Action Program.

2. The funds are earmarked to support prevention education, create best practices in pain medication use and facilitate community-wide responses.

3. Cardinal Health's Community Relations Vice President Jessie Cannon said, "Thanks to a multimillion-dollar investment in the foundation through Cardinal Health's Opioid Action Program, we are able to support many more organizations as they work to reduce the rate of opioid misuse and addiction in their communities."
