Boston Scientific completes 6th acquisition in 2018, acquires biotech company for $50M

Boston Scientific acquired Securus Medical Group for up to $50 million, WB Journal reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. Securus Medical Group created a thermal monitoring system that allows for continuous measurement of esophageal temperature.

2. This is Boston Scientific’s sixth acquisition in 2018. Since the beginning of the year, the company has announced acquisitions that could total more than $1 billion.

3. Boston Scientific already invested in Securus Medical Group in 2016.

4. The $50 million investment is Boston Scientific’s least costly investment since April 2017.
