ASC becomes 1st in area to implant Visian Toric ICL — 3 notes

Brock K. Bakewell, MD, was the first surgeon in Tucson, Ariz., to implant the Visian Toric ICL, according to STAAR Surgical Territory Sales Manager Korrie Katz.

1. Dr. Bakewell practices at Fishkind, Bakewell, Maltzman, Hunter & Associates Eye Care and Surgery Center in Tucson.

2. The Visian ICL is STAAR Surgical’s phakic intraocular lens implant for myopia.

3. The implant functions as a refractive element and is indicated for use in adults between the ages of 21 and 25.
