3 ways ASCs can improve inventory management

 
Alpharetta, Ga.-based Surgical Information Systems shared three tips for ASCs to improve inventory management practices on their blog.

Here are the insights they shared:

1. Staff training and resources. Properly training staff and providing necessary resources improves inventory management processes through ensuring inventory purchasing mistakes are avoided.

2. Look for a group purchasing organization. ASCs can leverage GPOs to negotiate prices. Centers should compare different GPOs to examine the services offered and pricing.

3. Determine storage locations. By limiting the number of spaces where supplies are stored, ASCs can lower the risk of supplies going missing or expiring.
