Nevada Anesthesiologist to Pay $1.25M to Settle Healthcare Fraud Allegations

Brian Lemper, MD, an anesthesiologist and pain management physician from Las Vegas, has paid the federal government $1.25 million to settle allegations by the Department of Justice that he bilked federal healthcare programs, according to a Las Vegas Sun news report.

The government accused Dr. Lemper of submitting inflated claims to TRICARE and the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program for surgeries and surgical supplies. The alleged fraud occurred from Oct. 2004 through Aug. 2007, according to the report.

Dr. Lemper has not admitted to any wrongdoing in the settlement with the federal government.
